About

Hey! I'm Mélanie Régnier, your local Microgreens farmer in Winnipeg, MB. In the photo is my mom, with her authentic McCaughan family farm cowboy hats, kept safe by my dad since 1984. It's like he knew I'd turn farmer someday!

My farm, Green Stock, is a small "direct to community" grow-to-order organic farm that offers Microgreen home deliveries anywhere in the Winnipeg area including La Salle and Headingley.

Both of my parents grew up on farms in St. François Xavier so it's in my blood. However, it took me 15 years of working in fashion to figure out that this ex-city girl loves growing plants in the country!

Some may remember my vintage and alternative clothing store Hungover Empire in the West End & Osborne Village from 2008 - 2015. After winning a few awards including "Rising Star of the West End," being voted "Best Women's Clothing Store" in Uptown's Best of Winnipeg along with placing a few years in a row in other categories, being featured in many local publications and a TV show, appearing as a guest speaker at the University of Manitoba's Asper School of Business, directing many photo shoots and fashion shows, vending at countless festivals, events and conventions, I moved the fashion business online for the freedom to travel. After seeing a decent portion of the world, in 2019 I began working as a Costumer and Costume Buyer for Film and TV in Winnipeg but while studying sustainability, healthy diets and discovering the corruption in the food system during lockdown 2020, I decided growing sustainable, organic food was for me. I hung up my traveling shoes to stay home in rural Manitoba and care for plants. Nobody saw it coming... I went from fashion to farming and I love growing superfoods organically for you!

Many thanks for the influence of my late grandparents Joachim & Juliette Régnier, and Ovide & Albertine McCaughan. I wish they could see the farmer I've become, following in their footsteps!
